General Information for Prince William Soccer’s Recreational Program

Prince William’s Recreational Program is the foundation of the Courage system. With 5,000 players spanning across 2 (Fall and Spring) seasons, our Recreational Program ranges in age from 4 and under to 19 and under (4U-19U.)

  • Fall Season timely registration begins May 1; ends July 31.
  • Spring Season timely registration begins November 1; ends February 28.
    All Registrations are done as individuals.
  • Late registration period begins after the last day of timely registration but there is a $20 late fee  per player.  
  • Player placement is done by our volunteer League Directors.
  • Special requests for coaches, teams, locations, etc. can be made during registration. ** Please understand we do our best to meet all requests but we cannot guarantee them.**
  • League Directors do their best to place players according to the registration requests but there are no guarantees and refunds cannot be approved if a request cannot be honored.
  • Coaches will contact players 1-2 weeks before practice can begin. If you haven’t heard before the practice start date, please contact the League Director for your age group. A list can be found here. 

Financial Assistance

  • Offered until January 31 for Spring Season and until June 30 for Fall Season. 
  • You must provide current Free/Reduced Lunch Letter from the County School at time of registration. All applicants that wish to receive Financial aid must be on the Lunch Letter (excludes children that are not old enough to be in school). 
  • Financial aid gives $35 off registration fee.
  • Uniforms are excluded from Financial Aid.
 

Proof of Birth

  • All players must have date of birth documentation verified at the clubhouse.
  • Any government issued document with player’s name and birth date is acceptable; e.g. birth certificate, ID card, or passport.
  • You can e-mail, fax, or drop off proof of birth at the clubhouse. You can also upload the documentation when you register online.
  • Players will not be placed on a team or able to play a game until date of birth documentation has been verified by the clubhouse.
 

Uniforms

  • All players must wear Courage sanctioned uniforms which are purchased at All Star Sports for 6U-19U; or which are provided by the Club for 4U and 5U.
  • 4U and 5U will receive their uniforms as part of their registration fee.
  • SFL players (13U-19U) must coordinate their jersey number with their coach before purchasing a uniform.
  • 6U-19U must purchase uniforms for $46. Uniforms are good for multiple seasons. They must be purchased from All-Star Sports at 2592 Dynasty Loop, Woodbridge VA 22192.
  • All-Star Sports Hours are Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM-7:00 PM and some Saturdays immediately preceding the start of the soccer season.
 

Recreational Coaches are Volunteers

  • Volunteer coaches devote a tremendous amount of their own time to the players and we appreciate them very much. 
  • All of our coaches must pass background checks, and we strongly encourage they attend the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) workshops we provide. 
  • We also offer them the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the game by reimbursing completion of coaching license clinics. 
  • We could not have the program we do without these 250 coaches.

Additional Information

  • You will need to register separately for the Fall and the Spring Seasons.
  • ** A special request not being met is not grounds for refund.**
  • Each season will consist of 8 games to be played once a weekend.
  • Make-up games are played the following weekend, at the same time as previously scheduled, but on the opposite weekend day, except for games at Fred Lynn. Additional information will be provided if a rainout occurs. 
  • Game locations are on the Eastern half of Prince William County, and should take no more than 15-20 minutes to get to from Woodbridge, Dale City, and Dumfries.
  • Practice location, time, and days are decided by the coach of each team, and will be communicated to you when she/he contacts you.
  • Practice locations change from year to year depending on the fields that have been allotted to us by the County Park Authority.
  • Only fields that are on our permit list are available practice sites. You may only practice at those sites during the given hours of each day listed on the permit. For more information on this click here.
