Proof of Birth Verification
All Players must Have Proof of Birth on File Before Registering

All players must have proof of birth on file before they will be allowed to register.  A birth certificate, passport, ID Card, or any government document with the date of birth on it will be acceptable.  If you register online, you will need to fax, scan and email, mail, or bring the documentation to the Clubhouse.

Starting in the Fall 2011 season players will not be allowed to play if they do not have proof of birth on file with PWSI.  If you have played in the past and we do not have proof of birth on file, you will need to provide it when we contact you.  Players that register online and fail to provide proof of birth will be placed on the wait-list until proof is provided.

We did change systems 3 years ago, so please plan on having proof of birth with you when registering.

For questions or more information contact Pat Howarth at phowarth@pwsi.org, or call 703-670-6061

Courage Developmental League
Frequently Asked Questions

The Courage Developmental League

What is it?
·         Courage Developmental League (CDL) is an offshoot of the Challenge League.
·         Designed as a pilot in the first season, we will assess the program for possible expansion to U10 and ultimately U12 in future seasons.
·         Designed to provide committed players the opportunity to play with like-minded players.
·         For players with previous soccer experience who want to improve and perhaps move to higher-level soccer environments.
Who is it for?
·         The CDL is for players who are U7 or U8, boys and girls.
·         The Challenge League will remain the same for U10 and U12 players.
·         Academy players are eligible for the CDL.
Why are we changing the Challenge League?
·         We surveyed Challenge players and analyzed what they liked and what they thought needed improvement and we are making changes based on that feedback.
·         We are moving to a “one Club” concept where the Recreational, Academy and Select programs work together more frequently.
·         We will assess implementation at the U8 level after the inaugural season to determine if we will expand to other age groups.
What’s the difference between the CDL and the Challenge League?
·         The CDL will use a player assessment system.
·         Players who are selected for CDL will be placed on teams at a “draft” session conducted by CDL coaches with oversight from the CDL Commissioner.
·         Teams will be formed to achieve the highest degree of parity possible.
·         Player requests (including playing up) are not a part of the CDL.
·         Coaches are required to meet qualifications; in the inaugural season, U8 coaches are recommended to have at least an F license; coaches will apply and go through a selection process.

How do you register for the CDL?

·         You will register and pay through the PWSI online system by choosing the program option that indicates CDL Assessment.
·         Attend the Assessment Day on February 23 for the Spring 2012 season.
·         Players will be notified of their CDL status a couple weeks after Assessment Day.
What happens to players who are not selected into the CDL?
·         Those players will become part of the regular recreational pool and the usual team assignment process will be used to place them.
·         Players not selected into the CDL will be refunded the difference between the CDL cost and the Recreational cost, $15.
Who can I contact if I have more questions?
·         You can contact the CDL Commissioner, Gregg Darr at CourageDLCommish@aol.com; or, the Clubhouse at clubhouse@pwsi.org; or Pat Howarth at phowarth@pwsi.org.

MinnieKickers Games Moved
U4's Will Play Saturday's

The MinnieKickers League will be moving from Fannie Fitzgerald Elementary School to Montclair Elementary School .  The U5-U6 games will still be held Sunday afternoons beginning at 12:30PM.  The U4 games will be Saturday mornings beginning at 10AM.  For more questions please contact Pat Howarth at phowarth@pwsi.org or call at 703-670-6061.

Registrations Requesting Financial Assistance

Because of the volume of registrations that were granted financial assistance last season, we have found it necessary to revise the criteria for providing assistance for players who receive free or reduced lunch at Prince William County schools.

Beginning in the Spring 2010 season, assistance is limited to 50% of the registration fee, whether the player qualifies for free or reduced lunch in the county school system.  Uniforms will need to be paid for in full.

Financial Assistance applications will be accepted through February 29, 2012 for the Spring 2012 season.  You must provide a current letter from Prince William County Schools.
