PWSI Players Show Well at Event
Five Players Make "All Event Team"

Five Prince William Players were named to the Atlantic Soccer Leagues (ASL) All-Event Team, at this years first ASL event.  Girls Players Madison Hammond (97 RG), Sylar Dowell (96RG) and Boys Players Gerson Umana-Alfaro (97 RB), Evan Szklennik (95RB), Rahim Costa-Dorsey (94RB) were the PWSI players named to the Bethesda All-Tournament Teams.  Congrats to each player and all the PWSI teams for a great showing at the first ASL event!

PWSI to be well Represented at Upcoming ODP Event

4-PWSI players were selected to participate in the ODP Interregional Event in Boca Raton, FL.  The event which has you play the three other Regional ODP teams, plus the US National team in your age group, is being played November 20-25.  PWSI players participating include Annah Lindberg with the 96 Region I team (95 Gold Girls), Caroline Kearns with the 97 Region I team (96 Red Girls), Zach McMurrer with 98 Region I Team (97 Red Boys), and Trey Vinson with U14 National Team (97 Red Boys).  Congrats and good luck to all.

PWSI 94 Red Boys Capture State Cup Title
95 Gold Girls and 96 Red Girls Lose Heartbreakers in Pk's

Last year their State Cup Run ended in Heartbreak but this year the 94 Red Boys played heartbreaker with a 1-0 Win over FC Reston.  Zack Hopkins scored on a free kick, in what proved to be the winning goal.  Congratulations to the 94 Red Boys!

PWSI Sending 10 to National Training Center
Monday, September 26th and Wednesday, September 28th for Girls; Tuesday, September 27th for Boys in Leesburg

The following ten players will represent PWSI at the US Soccer Training Center session in Northern Virginia next week: Gerson Umana-Alfaro, Milton Rivera, Trey Vinson, Maxwell Edwards, Zachary McMurrer, Annah Lindberg, Clara Robbins, Myra Konte, Madison Hammond, and Caroline Kearns.

PWSI Players Travel to Home Depot Center for U14 National Camp

Caroline Kearns earned her opportunity for an invite to camp with a great showing at one of Several US ID Camps that took place in the Spring.  Trey Vinson and Max Edwards took another route as both of them earned their bids from stellar play in Region 1 ODP Camp a few weeks ago.  Either way all 3 got the invite to the US National team’s Under 14 National Camp at the Home Depot Center, California (Boys) and Portland, Oregon (Girls).

96 Red Girls Win the 2011 VYSA U14 State Cup!!!!!
Defeat VSA Heat 1-0 in hard fought match

Congratulations to the 96 Red Girls for winning the 2011 VYSA U14 State Championship defeating the VSA Heat 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Richmond!  This marks the second time this team has won at the state level and represent VYSA and Prince William at the Region 1 Tournament.

95 Gold Girls Win Region 1 Premier League
Advance to Regionals in June

PWSI 95 Gold Girls won their Premier League South Division with a combined record of 5-0-2.  This past weekend they played in the Semi-Finals against World Class Soccer and were able to come out on top of an exciting 3-2 game. They advanced to the Finals on Sunday, where they played the North Division Champion Match Fit Chelsea, and Won a nail biter 1-0.  The girls now advance to the Region 1 Tournament in June!  Congrats and Good Luck Girls!

95 Gold Girls Win Region 1 South Premier League
Enter into Playoff
The girls U15 team competed in Region One this spring facing the top teams in VA, MD, Delaware and PA and wound up on top in 1st place with 0 losses.
 
Only the top girls soccer teams from this region gain a bid for REGION ONE play each year and these ladies performed at the top level through their season beginning late March.

9 PWSI Players Participating In US Soccer National Training Center Session
Saturday, April 2nd at George Mason University

This weekend 9 PWSI Players will have the opportunity to showcase their abilities against other top talents from around the Region in a US Soccer National Training Center Session.  The Girls representing PWSI will be Ashley Skertic (95 Gold), Caitlyn Flores (96 Red), and Megan Enos (96 Red).  The boys repesenting PWSI will be Joshua Cox (96 Red), Ryan Foley (96 Red), Gerson Umana-Alfaro (97 Red), Jamis Garay (97 Red), Miles Robinson (97 Red), and Zachary McMurrer (97 Red).

96 Red Player Going to Disney

PWSI ’96 Red Player Gary Foley will be playing in The ODP Interregional Tournament down at ESPN Worldwide Sports Complex in Florida.  Foley will be playing with the Region I ODP team.  Congratulation to Gary on the great accomplishment and best of luck down in Florida!
