HIGH SCHOOL CONFLICTS
There is a strong interest and support for our high school soccer programs among our community. Our players desire the opportunity to participate. Therefore, in an effort to accommodate our players’ desires, the Club has adopted a very supportive position of our high school soccer programs as demonstrated by the following policies:
For high school-aged teams having 8 or more players participating on a high school sponsored soccer team, No regular season or tournament games will be played during the High School VHSL season except on specific occasions of college exposure tournaments or State Cup games. In these instances, the TDOC will communicate the conflicts with the respective high school coaches. The season starts immediately in March through the end of the regular season, the second week in May, or the state playoffs, the first weekend in June.
Club team training sessions will be held only once per week, generally on Thursdays. Our training staff and team coaches are required to maintain a supportive attitude toward the high school soccer programs. It is the Club’s general policy that during the season, the high school programs are given priority in the event of a conflict with the Club teams’ program or schedule.
PRACTICE AND GAME ATTENDANCE
All players are expected to attend all practices and games. The Club’s training sessions and games are to take priority over secondary sports practices, games and other extracurricular activities. In the event a player must miss practice, the team coach must be notified prior to practice.
Players are expected to be on time and dressed in appropriate soccer attire. EVERY PLAYER WITHOUT EXCEPTION MUST WEAR SHINGUARDS. Players are also expected to bring a ball and water to practice.
GAMES
Players are expected to attend every game except in highly unusual circumstances. As with practices, players must notify the team coach if they will not be able to attend a game.
Times and locations for all matches will be provided by the team coach. Players must be at the field; dressed and ready to play at least 45 minutes prior to kick-off. BE ON TIME!!! Our competitive teams will be scheduled to play mostly on SUNDAY.
PLAYING TIME
White and Black players are guaranteed at least 50% playing time, however playing time may be taken away from players for missing practices, games, or for other conduct that is detrimental to the team.
Red players are not guaranteed a specified amount of playing time, however the philosophy of the Club is to develop strong, competitive players and teams. To this end, the trainers and team coaches will make a conscious effort to see that all players are given a chance to compete, but the trainers and team coaches must be allowed to do what he or she believes is best for the team with regard to substitution during games.
