Why Prince William Soccer?

Celia Mosier: There are many but the biggest reason is the people. I’ve been around this game for a long time and the motives and values of many of the people I’ve met don’t resonate with me. Here at PWSI I have the opportunity to work with players, coaches and administrators that I like and respect. I believe in this club and the people in it.

David Shaw: For me it was the professional environment of the club and the way the club is structured for success.  There is an accountable staff in place that wants to make the game accessible to everyone.  It is a great opportunity to get out and work hands on with new people who are possibly just being introduced to football (soccer) as players and coaches.

What are you most looking forward to in your new job?

Shaw: I’m really looking forward to working with our Technical Staff (Aaron Brunner, Ken Krieger, and Celia Mosier) and the Recreational Coaches.  I’m excited to get out there with the Recreational Coaches and work with them and hopefully add to their coaching experience, which I hope in return will make a difference for each child that participates.

Mosier:  I’m looking forward to getting the opportunity to work more closely with players and coaches on the girl’s side. The programs that we are instituting this fall will be an exciting part of that.

What do you see your roll in the club being?

Mosier: I see my (new) role in the club as the person who can facilitate growth of all our teams and players on the girl’s side.

Shaw: To create an avenue for Recreational Coaches to improve and grow.

Who is your Favorite Player?

Mosier:  Kelly Smith is my favorite field player but they don’t really count so Iker Casillas (Coach Mosier thinks it’s all about the Goalkeepers!)

Shaw: Xavi and Inestia of Barcelona and Spain, those two are brilliant!

Who is your Favorite Team?

Mosier: Barcelona, even though my favorite player plays for Real Madrid

Shaw:  Me too, Barcelona is hands down the best!

What do you hope to bring to the Club?

Shaw:  To continue the high standards the club has and to bring growth and continuity to the recreational coaches.  To help them enjoy the experience of coaching, so they will want to come back and continue with us.

Mosier: With the goalkeepers over the past few years I have tried to develop a culture of hard work, attention to detail, technical skill and tactical awareness. Every season we strive to improve from the season before. I hope that in my new role I am able to help the field players and coaches with whatever they need so that every team and every player improves in those areas every day.
