We hope that no one gets hurt, but if an injury occurs- Sentara Potomac Hospital and NoVa Orthopedic and Spine Care are here to help. We are committed to provide “fast track” service to your athlete. This includes quick access to the emergency department, diagnostic studies, and appointments with the appropriate medical specialist.
Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) will be on the field during PW Courage camps, tournaments and games (U13-U19 athletes). If there is an injury, the ATC will evaluate your athlete and recommend the appropriate next step of care. The ATCs will make the calls to expedite this care. Dr. Layfield, Board Certified Orthopedist, is on call to order needed testing and offers next weekday office appointments. Sentara Potomac Hospital is committed to minimize your athlete’s time at the hospital should diagnostic testing or emergency services be needed.
Should an injury occur during a PW Courage practice, this “fast track” service is available. If immediate care is needed, identify your athlete as a PW Courage player when presenting to the emergency room at Sentara Potomac Hospital. If immediate care is not required, you may call Dr. Layfield’s office for a next weekday appointment (identify athlete as a PW Courage player). Dr. Layfield’s office number is 703 490 1112.
